Do I understand correctly that your makeshift second hose will connect the outside air to the “hot” path of the AC inlet stream? Will you be able to extend the divider to entirely isolate it from the “cold” path? Not sure about the exact details of your model, but if, for example, there is a single blower fan pulling air into the inlet before splitting it into hot and cold paths, then you won’t be able to maintain separation and outside air from your second hose will mix with inside air in the blower before being separated again.

There’s two separate blower fans and two separate intake vents on my particular unit.
