I’m working on a post where I’m linking to a bunch of asciinema recordings, and the way you typically do that is by showing a preview and then clicking it takes you asciinema to watch it:
Unfortunately, if I click the image after uploading it, the only options are alt text and captions, and the ¶ symbol menu to the left doesn’t let me add a link either.
Is this intentional, or could the editor allow links on the image itself?

Is it possible to convert back and forth? I find the Markdown editor more annoying for the most part, and last time I used it, it was hard to upload images with it.
yes, for most post types. I think there are some things where it doesn’t convert properly. I default to markdown though, I only use the switch when I need to insert footnotes, so I don’t know off the top of my head what’s missing.
I tried doing this and it works, but you also lose all of the benefits of the WYSIWYG editor like nice image captions. If I link an image and then switch back to WYSIWYG the image link goes away.
