Huh, I think the overall site UI is quite good, and my guess is this generalizes very broadly in almost any kind of test with representative users you might want to run. I think redesigned user page is more polarizing, and I have some things I still want to improve for that, but certainly if you dislike the other pages, please use GreaterWrong! I don’t think there is any world where LW starts looking anything like GreaterWrong anytime soon.
Yes, I’ve seen infinite scrolling non-chronological feeds take over the entire internet so I assume they must perform well with some large group. And I wouldn’t say I’m particularly fond of GW overall, just that it has avoided a few design decisions that make me want to scream.
No suggestions come to mind but I’ve noticed an intermittent bug on the /users/me page, where sometimes the inbox icon, logout icon and a few others will suffer what seems to be some kind of unicode failure and display a square box instead of the normal envelope, logout, etc symbols. Everything is still functional, it’s just a weird graphical issue. It’s gone away again as I make this post, so I’ll try to debug further if I can get it to happen again. Latest Firefox, Windows 10.
