Hello. I am an independent researcher and I have written my first conceptual paper on AI sentience. The paper covers sentience as an emergent property, what may be needed for the emergence of sentience, bias against AI, parallels between AI and humans, discussions of AI ethics and critiques of the Turing Test. It also covers speculative implementations of technology to potentially create sentient AI and provides counters to common arguments against AI sentience such as a lack of emotions or soul.
I have uploaded it as a preprint on Zenodo. I hope that I can receive critique on my paper as I intend to move forward with journal submissions. I do appreciate it.
