oh yeah, sorry i should have mentioned that I did already at least try to make claude look to see how much it thought it was due to simpson’s paradox, and it ran some tests and said it didn’t think it was due to that.
I haven’t checked the tests manually yet though.
fwiw on glosso, rationalists report being less into unorthodox sex stuff, on the whole, than non-rats. There does appear to be a correlation of rationalism and cnc specifically, but it mostly goes away if you control for proximity to me.
I’m not totally sure how much the sample generalizes, like maybe there’s just rats + kinky freaks on glosso so the rats pale in comparison. But still, I am at least not finding rationalists being clearly more into kinky stuff.
fwiw I’m not really aware of any drama created by RMN/the orgies in my scene, unless you’re counting everybody in the outside world getting really upset about them. Maybe the closest thing to drama actually related to the parties themselves is there’s 1-2 people (in the kink community, not the rationalist community, and they themselves never attended) who wanted us to ban someone and are mad at the way we communicated about it? But that’s it unless I’m forgetting something.
Like Ben, I am confused. there was not a ‘whole thing’ that split the community. We have banned one person from RMN for behavior inside of RMN, years ago, and it caused zero issues inside of the community, people were very supportive.
If you’re asking about the people who never attended RMN, they were complaining about an offense that also did not happen inside of RMN. Their request was to get one of our guests banned from RMN. We don’t issue publicly-announced bans, as in do not report if we do or don’t ban people to outsiders in situations like this, and they were upset about this. But it didn’t cause any kind of community issues, no schisms, nobody inside the RMN cluster is upset, etc.
