It’s hard to disentangle various causes since my life has changed a lot. My own experience is that early on, I got more mileage out of “self-coercive techniques” than “internal alignment/self-trust” style techniques, and this was necessary for getting started on “have enough executive function to really get anything done at all”. But over the years I think I have developed more self-trust that has paid off in ways similar to how this post describes.
