I’m thinking more of people hating each other more in real life because the Internet lets them seek out unfiltered outrage from people with similar beliefs, with nothing tempered by gatekeepers as in the days before the Internet and the rise of cable news.
I don’t have the feeling that it’s hard to speak about politics in the social circles in which I move in real life. But then I don’t live in the US but in Germany.

I did read pro-PEDIGA posts on facebook from people where I wouldn’t have expected it.
