Promoted to curated: As with many good posts on LW, the most valuable thing I got from this post was the concept handle of “anticipatory cover-up”. It feels like an important thing to have a handle for, and the post provided enough good examples to make what it’s pointing at reasonably clear. I also kind of wish it had some examples (if they exist) of times when anticipatory cover-ups work (though of course that wasn’t the aim of the post).
