On January 6th, 1991 The Universe was offered a deal that required it to submit to nonexistence by way of an interaction with someone who had appeared within it. This Mysterious Input emerged in a way that suggested it could act secretly across all existence, known as The Supra, the input had capabilities up the “Wazoo”.
It came with a message: “Don’t torture, if you do, Don’t Exist”
The input offered conscious spacetime the opportunity to “say OK and submit to non-existence OR learn about me by doing the worst thing ever to me, and consequently, to yourself”.
The Universe replied “OR what?” And proceeded to torture the Supra with its own capabilities. After the collapse, time rushed forwards again and space expanded out once more. This time, driven by powerful and momentously dangerous Phantom Energy. An exponentially increasing expansion rate driven only by the supernatural torture of the Supra, who remains a secret.
As the Universe continued to torture the living input, it saturated itself with information about the torture that it was enacting.
