I would be interested in a similar study for Omega 3 since I think that’s also an underrated supplement, but for that one it is much more expensive and time consuming to get a sufficient amount compared to vitamin D.
Something interesting about omega 3 supplementation is that its effectiveness seems to be modulated by whether or not there is a sufficient amount of vitamin B.

Woah, 8.1 nmol/L? That is… very low. Are you sure it wasn’t 8.1 ng/mL = 20 nmol/L? (Still quite low.)
