I assume you’re getting downvoted because liking Pinterest is not one of the most salient things about women in general, nor about the class of women we’d like frequenting this site. If part of the reason talented women don’t end up here is that women are stereotyped as vapid, then appealing to a site at the low end of the intellectual spectrum as your prototype for ‘place we can find women’ only exacerbates the problem.
I don’t think Pinterest is any lower on intellectual spectrum than Twitter or Facebook, for example. It’s simply one of the big social networks that happens to have more women than men.
You’re also missing step 3½.
I don’t understand why people are down-voting this. Pinterest has a huge female population. Drawing members from there would be a great strategy.
