I like the idea of having an “AI written section”, it’s an attempt to wrestle with it. But I do think it might end up rewarding dishonesty or close paraphrases + might end up punishing insightful and honest AI takes.
I agree it’s confusng. I have thoughts on a possible solution to the broader problem—not the problem on LW, but to the informational apocalypse on the internet, which I jotted down in a hurry here. I still think it’s promising although I’m quite not sure.

I do find myself excited by something in this space, although it suffers from the usual “starting a social network is impossible” problem.
