I notice I boast about things without even considering if they’re things others will find impressive or shameful—like not attending class. it’s a bad habit not to exercise my consideration, empathy and/or theory of mind more. Reckon I’ve identified the right failure mode here or I’m misattributing?
I recently added a quote of Dannett to the rationality quote thread that fits here:
We really have to think of reasoning the way we think of romance, it takes two to tango. There has to be a communication.
You don’t have to communicate to everybody but it’s very worthwhile to have two way conversations about your important habits with other people. It’s important for mental sanity.
