We will introduce the idea of cooking as a set of easy templates or methods, which different ingredients can be applied to, rather than as a massively large set of recipes to be memorised and followed. We’ll cover the reasons for the presence and order of common steps in these formulas (which means you know which ones can be left out in other recipes). Ways to make meals more efficient (effort or time wise) will also be discussed.
Dahl (lentil stew) will be cooked and available for eating.
I will be meeting people in the foyer of Bruce Hall, and we will leave for South Kitchen at 6:15. If you do not know where South Kitchen is, please arrive before 6:15.
Structured meetups are held on the second Saturday and fourth Friday of each month from 6 pm until late in the CSIT building, room N101 (except for this meetup, which will be held in Bruce Hall).
