At some point fooling around in a terminal I realized that I could just type firefox and get it running. This led to “wait, what if I give it a url?”.
(I don’t really remember this so for all I know I just saw someone else do it and then copied them).
Lots of applications are like this, even if they may only take options and arguments about how you want them to run (instead of more useful stuff like adding a card to an anki deck which you can’t do unless you got a separate extension or script for that)
