I’m not sure if this is helpful, but I try to provide reasoning when I downvote posts. This post is a political call to action, so my standards are higher than usual. There’s a bunch of unsupported (and I suspect incorrect) claims about the world getting worse over time followed by proposals that ignore the fact that the government works the way it does because the average voter doesn’t want their bad (or cheap) choices to be banned and wants counterproductive subsidies. The problem isn’t that the government is ignoring what people want, it’s that voters need to be convinced that they want what you think they should want.
This isn’t really about your goals since I agree with you on the treatment of animals, but I think this argument is too messy for a political post on LessWrong.
