I doubt many people have argument preferences that are entirely different for each issue.
I have different argument preferences for different issues, and for the same issue with different discussion partners, and often for the same issue and same discussants but at different times.
Once one recognizes this dimension of modeling, it becomes just another thing to include in the discussions.
