I’m imagining this whole thing actually mostly being similar to what we see today.
A high-weight-class mind can win status games against some rando small mind, just like a rich/powerful person can often win status games against most randos. But, like, it’s not really worth the rich/powerful person’s effort to do that, because the rewards for winning smalltime status games are smalltime.
Wouldn’t the best strategy for small minds be “collect memes from more powerful minds” rather than “conduct their own search”? Similarly to how top chess players spend a lot of time memorizing openings found by a much larger search process, but more extreme?
Maybe this is kinda fine, but feels somehow less interesting if the minds are using mental tools they could not have found.
