(politics warning! the examples are drawn from the left wing only because that’s what I’m more familiar with—I am sure the right wing has plenty)
During the BLM protests era in America after the George Floyd shooting, the slogan “Defund the Police” would could be used to mean anything from “abolish the police” to “stop giving the police military equipment” to “decrease policing spending by a tad”. (I was one of those people—it was pretty confusing to realize other people meant very different things!)
“From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” can refer to anything in between “the entire area from the river to the sea (e.g. all of Israel) should be controlled by Palestine” to “I don’t like Israel’s military actions in Palestine”.
