“Apply deodorant before going to bed” lacks information. If I hadn’t seen the previous discussion, I would assume the point was “Do apply deodorant”, not ”...rather than in the morning”.
According to the linked article, yes. The critical thing seems to be that the period of time between the application and the bathing where you perspire less, lets the deodorant enter your pores.
So for people who perspire less when they sleep than when they are awake, they should apply deodorant before bed.
Not being one of those people myself, I keep my own counsel on the subject.

So deodorant can withstand a shower and even be stronger afterward? (I shower in the morning.)
I’ve been doing this since I read the OB article. My showering times vary widely, but when I do shower in the morning, it still seems to work fine.
