To be clear, I’m not saying that Eliezer’s current views would make negative predictions about Putin’s CEV. I think a more central examples is that Eliezer now predicts (I think) that some people’s CEV is nothingness, because they hate suffering so much more than they like flourishing.
I planned to write a reply to the “psychological unity”, basically listing some ways how evolution supports diversity inside of species.
For example, one way is when there is an equilibrium. For example, is it better from evolutionary perspective to be a man or a woman? If there are more men, it is better to be a woman; if there are more women, it is better to be a man (from the perspective of the expected number of descendants). This is what keeps men and women at a certain ratio.
Potentially the same could be true about psychopaths. If they are rare, they have the advantage of surprise; most people don’t know how to react to them, many even don’t believe they exist! If they become too frequent, normies learn to recognize them, and either exterminate them or put them in prisons.
Yet another way for the evolution to support diversity is to have a biological switch that activates during lifetime: “in situation X, do A; in situation Y, do B”. People with the same genome will act differently, because of the genome.
Eliezer wrote about the psychological unity of humankind. Though he seemingly disavows it now (human value differences also seems to be a theme in Planecrash).

There are probably other options.
