That feeling when everyone around you starts ‘speaking chatgptenese’ and saying ‘verify’ and ‘ensure’ and every sentence has a conclusion but is vague as hell.
I haven’t started mimicking LLMs’ speaking patterns[1], but I did notice a new reflexive urge to issue commands to people, especially if the interaction is online. It’s not a strong urge, and easy to notice and suppress, but yeah.

I was already like this when they found me.Mostly re the footnote: as a long-term legacy em dash user, I have fear and apprehension over potential changing connotations, myself.
Thankfully, in a minor abuse of grammar, I’m fond of using en dashes (–) in place of em dashes (—). A keen eye can yet distinguish me from an LLM.
