Of course, the correct advice to give people in such a society is to have children early, wait till you feel attached to them, then pick a quiet, tranquil and happy moment, close your eyes, think “I’m about to see my children all grown up”, open your eyes, and look at your watch.
That should hopefully eliminate much of the aimlessness people feel in world you described.
