I’ve heard it said that you should have a pair of scissors in every room in your house. (The scissors incidentally tend to differ depending on location, eg kitchen scissors vs nail scissors, but that’s a detail.)
My keychain has a tiny Victorinox swiss army knife which has tiny scissors (and a tiny knife, nail file, flat head, tweezers, and toothpick) I also have a small nail clipper on the chain just so that I can cut my nails at random times whenever I notice that they’re longer (I don’t like the feeling).
