There’s a correlation (imperfect, but real) between “something I want to read”, “author with something interesting to say”, and “author at least competent at writing”.
There’s VASTLY more ideas, even good ideas, than I will ever have time to consider. So I’m going to miss out on many many of them. The poorly-written ones seems a reasonable filter—the very best will be picked up by better writers and I’ll get them that way, but most I won’t. LLMs don’t change the quantity at all—they do shuffle the density a bit—they both raise the floor of bad writing, and suppress a few of the least coherent ideas (because the incoherence is clearer when the writing is better.
