To readers: Nice post. I was hesitant about the philosophy references and moderate length at first, but after looking them up to see if I could use the concepts in context, it seems quite workable and a good comparison across domains. Seems to be written from the perspective of a fairly well trained philosopher who isn’t deeply familiar with computer science. Eg, thick concepts, which sounded like a new term to me, are in fact prior art from philosophy. I have strong upvoted. Initially starts by reintroducing concepts likely known to folks here, but it gets into some interesting subtopics.
