Eliezer’s proposal seems worse than your one in this thread to me—partly since it seems so irregular. I think trying to talk him down would be the most sensible strategy. “Truth-seeker” is terminology which is good enough.
You seem to be taking the opposite tack as in this video, where rationality was best for everyone no matter their cause.
