In my understanding of language the word value refers to something that’s deeper and more stable then the word priorities.
When it comes to words that describe internal mental states it’s often not trivial to operationalize them. I think it’s mistaken to say that we should ignore internal mental states because it’s hard to introspect.
At the last LessWrong Community there was a person who presented Leverage Research’s belief reporting which is a very useful tool for introspection.
According to framework I get a different resonance when I say “I value learning” then when I say “I prioritize learning” and it seems that they don’t map to the same mental substance.
