To me, your before and after pictures are sufficient reason to descale it.
I’m curious if that’s just a visual thing (e.g. it looks nicer, or something stronger like “the before is actively unpleasant to look at”) or something else?
I’m not sure of the distinction being made, but I find it unpleasant to look at. It would be itching at me for as long as I left it like that.
