I have read parts 1 & 2, and I agree. Death is a thief that has already taken from me, my father and mother. I want death defeated so I don’t have to lose my brothers, or they and my kids, me.
It looks like the early 2030s is when it’s time to set course for the Oort cloud, spin up a habitat, and live a life less encumbered by earthly politics and resourse struggles.
Left out was the other leisure class that can be used as an example: the welfare class. A class economically discouraged by benefit design from seeking employment, and is representative of what a future leisure class might become.
“Jobless aristocrats” assumes that everyone receives the independence of an aristocrat. A more likely default is that most people become jobless dependents: supported by distributions from an economy they do not own, and therefore vulnerable to the rules, conditions, and politics attached to those distributions.
