Maybe that’s a flaw in the analogy. But Valentine does claim real-world benefits, such as superhuman insight into psychology (as do other people who describe themselves as enlightened.) Maybe those aren’t “the point”, but demonstrating them convincingly would go a long way towards convincing the rest of us that there is a point and we just can’t see it.
The Buddha himself didn’t just say “trust me guys”, he supposedly did a bunch of miracles using his enlightenment-granted powers.

The red-haired children tended bigger than the rest of us, with more adult facial structures, to the point where you could’ve maybe mistaken them for very small adults in disguise. The red-haired adults, what few of them we ever saw, were correspondingly huge and muscular.
I’m glad to hear all this, but I, uh, have some questions.
Ziz’s blog contains some stuff that seems at odds with the rosy picture you’ve painted of her and her relationship with you all. Here she describes threatening (she says sincerely) to kill you over an argument about money issues during Rationalist Fleet when the two of you were alone together out on the water. (Ziz might disagree that this was a “threat”, but in the colloquial sense.) Then in the comments below that post, she goes off on a spiel about killing any “single good” friends/followers who ever step out of line. Maybe you didn’t/don’t think these were serious, but they seem pretty serious.

What were you doing there, given you were—and I have no other reason to doubt this—homeless/recovering/in hiding and living on the other side of the country at this point? Or was this report somehow false, even though you really are alive?
Can you elaborate a bit on your relationship with Curt, and your impression of what he was like? Some other people involved have posted some pretty strong stuff about Curt, calling him violent & threatening, transphobic, a “shady slumlord”, etc. (Actually, I don’t know who exactly wrote that post.)
