Trivially AI written, or at least heavily AI assisted at least in some parts—repulsive, grotesque, and absolutely stinky, but I am the last of the wordcels, and the others are dead or gone, and I am beckoned now by the dark and the cold of the gentle soft-starred night.

Sam Kriss is an writer-journalist with a “playful” relationship to truth. He’s a good enough writer that the few ratty people that I know approve of him regardless. You can find his blog here:

What’s the state of alignment awareness on the foreign internet?
Particularly in Russia and China. Has anyone thought to do a survey?
Even if someone did, would people caring about alignment in other non-democratic countries en-masse matter the same way it would matter in America? If Yudposts about instrumental convergence and p(doom) went viral on the Chinese internet, for example, what would happen? Would the government send a censorship agent after AI safety content? If it managed to alert the party bureaucracy would it be able to reach anyone important?
oh fuck lol pangram says it was human. I guess I’m not the last wordcel… maybe the last celword...
