I never got the impression he ever even wanted to cater to the small numbers of bonafide genius intellectuals that actively read public blogs.
So he uses many many simplifications, reductions, metaphors, etc..., to appeal to a wider audience.
Replacing very false notions with somewhat false notions is pretty much the maximum expectation in that case.
