Building infrastructure for recovering from warning shots both makes them more survivable, while not preventing them. For everything else, you’d have to estimate the tradeoff. If you value warning shots, it looks like you should do little to prevent them in the short-term. Except that if prosaic alignment doesn’t actually make the more visible / dangerous warning shots less likely[1], working on it is worth it, to prepare for when non-prosaic alignment might be solved.
