Hi all. I am an independent researcher from Poland. I am the kind of person who can just sit and think for quite a long time about how our reality works and, in principle, how everything works. Recently, I decided to read various ideas and paradoxes and the like, and it was during this period, about 3 weeks ago, that I became familiar with the ideas of David Chalmers and his famous “Hard Problem of Consciousness.”
To be honest, I thought a lot and in order to come to the main verdict it took me quite a lot of time, the problem itself seems unsolvable, but in order to solve it (in my understanding this is a solution) I needed more time and attempts, after a while a logical chain began to form in my head and I came to a conclusion that I want to share. Consciousness is not a thing inside us and not a static state. Consciousness is action and yes, action.
I see it as a process that always consists of three stages
What happens before the action is our intention
Then the action itself, in other words, interaction with the world
And then the result is like the feedback that we receive.
When these three points connect, what I call Information Resonance occurs. It is this resonance that we feel as our subjective “I”, it’s like that same feeling of awareness, the same thing.
I tried to formalize this intuition into a strict mathematical model, I can’t say for sure that I’m not mistaken, firstly, we can all be wrong, and secondly, even if so, point it out to me if it’s not difficult for you. I called it (meaning the mathematical model) “Internal Integral of Action
This equation takes into account not only our intention and, as it were, the response of the environment, but also the internal entropy (noise) of the brain with which consciousness has to constantly fight in order not to fall apart.
I’m not particularly eager to fill this post with huge walls of mathematical formulas, so I’ve prepared a more or less detailed
There I described all my logic and how I understand what I wrote and did, as well as mathematical calculations and how it relates to real neurobiology. I’m looking for people who can critically analyze my theory and point out my mistakes, if there are any (I’m sure there are).
I would like to immediately clarify that English is not my native language, so I use a translator so there may be errors in the text, sorry for that, I think I can convey my thoughts to you, but still the model itself and all the logic in it are completely mine.
