I often read in this forum about AI, and often about the term “giving training data” to a AI,, while the term “programming a AI” means configuring a computer ( or robot or whatever) really means “someone is creating a AI”.
Now a AI, is rhoughy the same as a natural neural network, which I will call an NI
Humans just took an idea evolution already created and modified it a bit.
Now, look at different NI. There are of course insects and crocidiles, birds and rats ( and their intelligence is often underrated by humans).
But let us look at the most general NI that existist: a human baby.
It is a bit different then a AI,, because its neural network changes over time.
But you could say a baby is a neural network that has to be programmed. The first and often main programmer is mostly known under the name “mother”.
Their are of course other programmers too, first mostly family, later friends and foes, teachers and neighbors and more and more our NI can decide by whom it is programmed.
Now, to my thinking it would be easier to use the following definitions:
Making an AI = programming a computer to function as a AI
programming an AI = giving a set of training data to a AI
A definition that counts (newbie, trying to find my place and my voice, no native english speaker)
