I like how Richard Grannon put it while addressing a former cult member:
What you are describing is a cult-based fantasy that works. . . . It needs to have nothing to do with reality. . . . The terrible risk that you are in is that you’ve deprogrammed from a cult . . . It is not real reality, but it has internal consistency for you. It worked. Now, you shouldn’t have no fantasy. No human should have no fantasy. So, in a way, the collapse of a fantasy is not good. So, if your saying, “God! I was so motivated then, it was great, it was wonderful, but I had grandiose delusional beliefs.” I would come back and whisper in your ear, “you need a little bit of that again—if you want to feel that motivation”. You do need to be a soldier of God. You do need to be operating at a universal level.
