We should put more trust in larger scale organizations who are doing exploring, like GiveWell, and pool our resources.
I think at a certain point it’s better to have several medium-sized organizations rather than a single large one. When my dad was thinking about graduate school, his professors encouraged him to go to a different university than the one he was attending in order to get a different perspective. I think the ideal case for the EA movement is to have multiple charity evaluators that share information with one another but operate independently, in the same way universities share information with one another and collaborate on projects while still operating independently. Also, it seems like organizations become more likely to degrade as they grow.
