Electrodynamics I find easy (I am well versed in vector field analysis and calculus), but I have completely missed creating a mental model for electrostatics.
Can you describe in greater detail what sort of mental model you have for electrodynamics and lack for electrostatics? Since electrostatics is a limiting case of electrodynamics, I find your visualisation abilities puzzling. Is it really more difficult for you to imagine a scalar field than a vector field?

Hmm. I am unsure of that as well.
I guess I just need to find some formulations of electrostatic as scalar fields. Thank you.
