I have a few contextual questions if you don’t mind answering them:
Number of notes a day? Roughly how many notes were you taking per day before you implemented this new system and after?
Reviewing and processing notes: How do you review, revisit or what do you do with these voice notes? For example, this morning I had an idea about “investigating the correlation between Implicit/Explicit Memory model and interrogatives that pertain to “How...?” as in Know-How, and “What...?” as in Semantic Knowledge”—in your workflow what would happen to a question or idea like this? At what point does it get revisited or processed? Is it a weekly thing. Do you trust the serendipity of seeing them in your Roam Garden at the appropriate time?
Ratio between rejected and actioned notes: Building on from the last question—How many notes would you say become commitments or “actioned”? (I realize this is perhaps a impossible question to ask, as there’s a number of different definitions of commitment or action, and that your stream of conscious babbling style for voice notes may go through a long process of refinement and adornment. Your personal definitions or equivalents are fine. My motivation for asking this question is explained here- basically I have a big pile of notes that just stay in the archives, untouched. For example, I may have an idea for a Instagram Reel “showcase the comedic timing of film director Roy Andersson”—now this could either be an idea, which is rejected for whatever reason, which is fine, or I could make a reel that more or less is an embodiment of that idea. How often would you say that happens for you?
I’d be guessing with more fluency of notes, the ratio between notes and “actioned” notes is a lot lower, but if you’re doing this I imagine your productivity is higher since you’re capturing all the “good” ideas.
My apologies is this is too personal for you to want to share
