Realizing the points you make in this post about AI is just like lv 10 out of 200 or something levels. It’s somewhat disappointing that you actually have to even bother talking about it, because this should have been realized by everyone back in 1956, or at least in 1970, after the first round of failures. (Marvin Minsky, why weren’t you pushing that point back then?) But is it bad that I sort of like how most people are confused nowadays? Conflicting emotions on this one.
