[Question] Is Consciousness Still a Mystery?

The question of consciousness has been begged by the development of AIs. But what is it that makes consciousness such a mystery?

It seems that consciousness has an interior part, an exterior part and a bridge between them:
Interior: The interior part is the Processing Unit. In humans; the brain. This is where data is stored and models are made based on the data to predict outcome. The models are not only affected by calculations of the PU, but also shifting variables gained from the exterior.
Exterior: The Exterior is the Environment around the Interior. This environment is what gives context to the Interior, on what calculations are prioritized.
Bridge: The bridge is the link of translation. The Interior and the Exterior are of different substances; the interior in numbers (carried by matter) and the Exterior in matter. The Bridge is the sensors which are able to pick up information from the Exterior, and pass it to the Interior.

What we define as life, springs from clusters of dead atoms—just like computers.
So my question is; Where is the magical part of consciousness? Why is this still talked about as such a strange phenomena? Is it not all very logical?
