I can’t attend because I can’t in good conscience pay all that money for something that won’t be significantly better for my rationality unless it was at a cheaper venue (i.e. a normal city venue instead of a ski lodge...).
Anyway, I have a request for personal advice for the Australian lesswrongers:
“How do I reconcile my deontological preference for libertarianism (respect for free will and voluntary decisions) with consequentialistic policies (the Green’s party seems to have a more ethical, pro-social policy agenda than the Liberal Party of Australia, but I’m a member of the Liberal party). I’m also concerned that switching parties, if indeed that is the right way to go, will be bad for my potential political candidacy and chance of getting appointed to some position of power by a powerbroker associated with the party.”
Just check out their federal policies, state policies, and how professional their politicians area, haha.
