If a wiki format is what SIAI researchers want to write in- and I suspect it is- then go with that. Like you say, it’s fairly easy to switch content between forms and the bottleneck appears to be getting that content out of minds.
The total cost doesn’t seem all that relevant- the relative cost between writing wiki articles and writing journal articles seems to me like the driving factor.
