4 September 2025, 11:00 pm—5 September 2025, 2:30 am
Waterloo, ON, Canada
Meet inside The Shops at Waterloo Town Square—we will congregate in the indoor seating area next to the Your Independent Grocer with the trees sticking out in the middle of the benches (pic) at 7:00 pm for 15 minutes, and then head over to my nearby apartment’s amenity room. If you’ve been around a few times, feel free to meet up at the front door of the apartment at 7:30 instead.
Description
I used all my brain juice for last week’s meetup, so have some lighter fare this week.
I have a copy of Ben Orlin’s Math Games With Bad Drawings and photocopies of the most intriguing games. Graph paper, pens, and dice will also be supplied. Come hang out (math out?), and if you know any pen-and-paper math games of your own, feel free to bring them! For obvious reasons, the ban on math talk will be suspended for the meetup.
The second half of the evening will be focused on calibration games, and we’ll be playing at least one round each of Breaking Rank and Outrangeous. Overpreparers may want to start considering possible prompts (without looking up any answers).
