Substack is very valuable for reach, and visibility to a broader audience.
Coincidentally, my boss is Albanian (Lead Counsel for a big entity). I saw those news, sent her your paper, messaged “The authors would say this is the start of gradual disempowerment”.
She read the paper.
This is how I was able to introduce AI Safety in our regular conversations 🙏🏼.
Substack: iffy. I find it’s optimizing for engagement enough that I’ll go through cycles of spending more time there than I intend, then taking a break, and every time I go into the app rather than just reading emails of the people I have subscribed to, I regret it because of wasted time. They have also started making it really easy to subscribe but substantially harder to unsubscribe. This was not true a year ago, IIRC.
Are people interested in a regular version of this, probably on a substack? Plus, any other thoughts on the format.
Most posts I see I see on LessWrong, I don’t subscribe to substacks.
