That might atrophy my decision-making a bit, but it’s not going to make all my decisions for me and it certainly won’t eat my memories or personal sense of joy and fun.
If it becomes like the earring by telling me what to think every second, then I think it would atrophy those things. So perhaps it’s a slippery slope. But I’m skeptical of the premise that the earring would inevitably take over more than you want; wouldn’t a good earring help you retain a sense of self and joy if that was your goal?
