Isn’t one of the main objections to cyborgism that humans with unlimited power tend to go kind of crazy?
It seems like the main challenge would be figuring out what kind of guardrails we want to put on our neo-cortex to make sure that humans didn’t do anything obviously insane like build a superweapon and destroy earth. But this essentially re-capitulates the alignment problem as the “align AI but also make it bio-compatible” which seems strictly harder.
