Hello LW world! I’ve been aware of LW for a while now but not quite a lurker here. Therefore, I am not deeply familiar with the culture of the board and have not yet read things like The Sequences or HPMOR, but I have read through the New User’s Guide which brought me to this section of the site.
I’m looking to get some constructive thoughts and/or feedback on a post I made over on Medium titled “Thinking beyond the long-term” which discusses the ultimate aims of sentient life. It addresses a number of topics related to that issue, like antinatalism, negative utilitarianism, and the simulation argument.
I considered making a post on LW and collecting feedback that way, but decided against it unless I get a bit of a stronger grasp of the LW culture and norms. I would sincerely appreciate the community’s thoughts on this in the meantime.
