Why are you asking? I’d say in general the answer is that you should be thinking about more important things. The consequences of getting the fridge timing either right or wrong are very small compared to many things in life. Social interactions and social skills are an overlooked area worthy of a ton of thought and analysis.
Curiosity is good, and well-directed curiosity is better. I probably didn’t state it well, and if I sounded discouraging I apologize. The point I meant to make is that the meta-question “what should I be thinking about?” is super valuable and should take precedence over many detailed questions like this one. Of course the logic of when to close the fridge might generalize to other important things, but I wasn’t seeing how, so I wondered if this was just one example of an important class of questions. The only class I was seeing was “things that distract you from important questions” but I could be wrong!

I agree that this particular question isn’t important, but I think it’s good to encourage this general kind of curiosity.
